Does anybody fact check anymore?

http://money.cnn.com/galleries/2010/real_estate/1009/gallery.Jerry_Garcia_s_house_for_sale/?source=cnn_bin&hpt=Sbin

"Located about 30 minutes from San Francisco, the estate is where Jerry Garcia was born and raised. Later in life, he would return to the comforts of this home after the band's numerous concert tours."

Didn't know Jerr was born on an estate. Sweet.

C'mon, CNN, get yer' heads out yer' ass.

That renovation must have been intense if it started out looking like this:

Too funny. Perhaps they've corrected it. The line now reads:

BACK WHERE HE BELONGED

"The estate is located about 30 minutes from San Francisco, in the Marin County hills, where Jerry Garcia was born and raised. Later in life, he would return to the comforts of his childhood and buy this home to retreat to between the band's numerous concert tours."

Writing around the mistake, are ya guys? But didn't want to change that lovely hed? LOL.

From what I've read, "comforts" isn't quite how his childhood would be described.

Well, at least someone realized the mistake and fixed it. Still weak though.

Hmmm...that does not look like Jerry at all...it's not the places he was living in the 70s; that is an LA house--all the plants are "wrong", and have no biz being in Marin. I've been all over Marin and never seen a house that was landscaped like that...you need a sprawling one story ranch style tucked into the oakwooland/chaparral, or overlooking the beach in coastal sage.

Yuck...

The plants must have been put in by The Evil Deborah.

True, it's a bit hard to see Jerry in that all-white, Hollywood-set interior. Things would have gotten a bit smudgy. But it's been 15 years, and anyway, speaking as someone who just stashed most of my stuff with any character in storage before putting my house on the rental market ... looks like the stagers have had a good time with that house's decor. Even the flowers are perfectly matched.

Pretty sure how it appears in thos pics is very different from how it looked when the Fat Man lived there. The note about our favorite Toilet Salesman who owned the house right after Jerry says that he did some renovations. I'm willing to bet things like the Blues for Allah poster was added recently to help the house's celebrity appeal. Would Jerry really have a poster of his own album hanging in his house? I'm thinking he would have had his own paintings scattered throughout.
